Sidney Kovach has been the Assistant Principal Double Bassist in the Philharmonic for over 40 years. He’s done everything during his illustrious career, he’s played Bernstein with Bernstein, Stravinsky with Boulez and has premiered major concertos with the world’s best musicians. When his stand partner (the legendary Max Finkelstein) passes away, a young upstart, Lindsay Bonner-Cox III, is appointed as the new Principal by the Music Director. Lindsay is not the choice of the members of the bass section and the appointment immediately causes friction amongst the players. Basses are Loaded is a hilarious psychological study of three generations of musicians trying to find a way to make music together in challenging circumstances.

This will be a Staged Reading; the actors will have script in hand, there will be some scenic elements and projections, minimal costumes, and theatrical lighting
